Clean Asia
Clean Asia is cactus’ entry for the AutoFire 2007 Shooter Competition. See also Space! and The Design, other recent efforts by him. Toss Ad Nauseam into the mix, which was originally intended for the contest, and you have one of the most stylish indie developers around.
Clean Asia is a bit of brilliance in my mind. There are 3 areas to explore, and 2 characters to play as. The styles of both are incredibly different, yet both fit into the game nicely. This game is really full of surprises, and needs to be given some extra play time to get over the initial novelty of some of the mechanics. I really don’t want to say too much about the game, rather I’d like to strongly encourage everyone to take some time with it. Get used to it, fool around, and just enjoy the experience.
Can you tell? I really like this game. Quirky, abstract graphics with a neo-apocalyptic storyline. Awesome ![]()

The game’s great. However, it’s hard for me to tell bullets that I should avoid, from the debris that I should collect. I don’t mean they look too much alike, they don’t, it’s just hard to differentiate between them when about a hundred of each is heading your way , all with pretty much the same speed and often same color. Having to fly under hud elements doesn’t help either. Well, probably that’s just me.

So, which game did you prefer, Bill? This or Ad Nauseam? I’m glad you liked the game(s) either way. Thanks for writing stuff about my projects, it really makes me happy to see that people enjoy ‘em =)

A great question, since I’ve been one of the vocal ones mourning Ad Nauseam… hadn’t really thought about it, though, until now. I think Clean Asia, so you made the right choice
It really is a great game.
Now, stop surfing and get working on your next game

Doesn’t work on this machine with two video cards. I’ll try it again on another machine later if I remember.
