There’s quite a lot of blood in the game, intentionally shown to make a point regarding whaling. Obviously the game is about killing whales. As well, you lose points if you kill a Greanpeace ship, even more if the act is caught on camera by the television crews in the helicopters.
I imagine some will say there’s no place in shmups for making a statement like monoRAIL is here. I disagree. If something is important to you, say it.
Geometry Wars Galaxies DS arrived yesterday in the mail. It really is very good. With the levels and the awarding of medals a far more complete game has been created here than the original.
Radical R sent me an email to let me know that his group, NDT, have released a translation patch for Imperishable Night. The patch can be downloaded from here. Once again a big thanks to all involved for their work.
Castle of Shikigami III is coming west on the Wii, next spring. Looks like a classic controller for this (please, please, do not even attempt to put in an optional Wii remote control mechanism… or might such a scheme work?). Such prose from Joystiq, as well. They just don’t write like they did in Ben Zackheim‘s day
Spent a few hours making a few OSGibundles to provide a few of the different Java libraries I regularly use. Not surprisingly, I ran into a few issues due to the peer structure of the OSGi class loading model.
I’ve gotten a lot of use out of Cas‘ excellent Shaven Puppy Game Library, and utilize its resource management system for everything from textures to levels. So I thought a wrapper for this library would make a logical bundle. Except that most of the actual classes that are unserialized belong to a separate bundle, the game’s. And the textures are image resources served from that bundle too.
I’ll have to think a little about how best to share these around and how to organize my bundles.
