Hima interview

Hima is interviewed at Gaming World. Always interesting to find out a bit more about the people you interact with (hima‘s a regular at Shmup-Dev). Funniest line:

I’m from Thailand – a country that I’m sure many people get confused with Taiwan.

I’ve experienced that. I remember onetime telling someone my wife was from Taiwan, and the reply was “I love Thai food!”. Via Indie Games

Brandon Sheffield has a good read up at Gamasutra, Indie Shooter Roundtable: Mak, Cho, And Omega Fire At Will. Some very interesting insights into how these guys approach the design and development of their games. Via TIGSource.

The Oddbob Interviews: Hermit Games

Oddbob recently interviewed Matt V of Hermit Games for Way of the Rodent. Matt‘s Fren-ze is still one of my favourite indie shmups, and should be found on everyone’s PC.

As always, Oddbob‘s writing is very entertaining; the interview is an excellent read. Before he even starts talking to Matt he gives us a fairly open and honest assessment of the “western” shooter scene. The only name I’d add to his list is Linley, mostly because I’m still playing White Butterfly a ton!

Entar interviews Petri Purho over at Games Fascination. Spoiler alert as the secret to the Kloonigames name is revealed, as well bits of information on Crayon Physics Deluxe. Entar also does some rapid game prototyping.

Crayon Physics Deluxe Interview

Twas the night before the next Monthly Experimental Game and thus seems appropriate to link to Binary Joy’s interview with Petri Purho. Best line? “I was born 83 in Kouvola (New Jersey of Finland)…” The New Jersey as a special place meme is expanding to Europe 🙂 Fuhgedd about it.
