Forbidden.exe is the real new game in Petri‘s series of monthly experiments. It’s a game designed to “communicate that feeling that you get from watching a good suspense / horror movie”.

Again, one of the strength’s of the game, as with most of Petri‘s efforts, is the atmosphere created through the sound and visuals. Forbidden.exe has you maneuvering your “character” through a series of increasingly tough maze-like passageways. While being chased. As in Operation, touch the sides and things go bad. You hear a screech, and the chaser speeds up. The game successfully builds the suspension, and a sense of panic as you try to thread your player through the levels with your mouse. There might be more, but I’m crap with a mouse, and I haven’t gone vary far yet.

It would, be interesting to see it ported over. Given that it uses SDL it should be relatively simple, in theory, to do.

    Petri? Come on! :)

Yeah a DS port would be cool. Unfortunately I don’t own a DS, so I’d have to purchase one.

I’m actually considering of getting myself a Wii and creating a game on PC that would use the Wii-mote, unfortunately it’s surprisingly difficult to find a store in Finland that has Wii’s on the shelf. They seem to be sold out every where.

We haven’t purchases a Wii here yet, just waiting I suppose. I’ve had some luck doing DS homebrew, surprisingly easy and there’s a good community at DrunkenCoders :)

But, so many projects, so little time.
