Ablation is another shooter from Calculator-me-do over at Retro Remakes. All the games have been very well done, especially the shooters. Ablation is no different, more abstract in style (sounds weird talking about that with a low-res game) and definitely better in motion. Get downloading and start shooting.

This game was really cool. I liked a lot of the ideas in it, and the look was very nice. I would’ve liked to see the gameplay a bit more evolved, and since it’s just a demo, I hope that I will soon.

The sounds were perfect! I loved the style of ‘em and they were well chosen to where and when they were played.

I unfortunately had a problem with displaying the game in fullscreen. My monitor won’t go below 640 x 480 in resolution, so I was stuck in 1024 x 768 with the game playing in the lower left corner of the screen. This made the visuals a lot less impressive than what they would’ve been if I could’ve played the game as intended.

Do you have an older machine to play it on? ;) First time I’ve ever said that :)

Oh, just discovered this was blogged here :)

Cactus, it’s weird you can’t go fullscreen. In that mode game actually runs in 640×480 with x4 pixel blowup.
